首先从这支队伍的历史说起,骚话王大师兄doublelift(后来也转会到TSM)在表明自己的老资历时曾说:“在有联赛之前我就在打职业了。”那么这方面TSM还要更厉害一点——在英雄联盟五个位置还未明确分工之前,队伍最初的几个队员就已经是路人高玩了。英雄联盟初期还是北美的天下,队伍创始人猩猩队长Reginald从内测时期就开始玩,之后又和哥哥创建了网站供玩家们交流心得。TSM第一次参加线下赛时的五名队员Reginald、TheOddOne、The Rain Man、Xpecial和Chaox都是当时在普通玩家心目中地位甚高的“大神”,对于很多后来的年轻选手和玩家来说,可以说就是“看着他们的视频长大的”。
那么这样一支银河战舰在成立之初就横扫北美各项赛事并获得了极高人气就毫不奇怪了,在当时的线下赛中TSM粉丝就有了通过高喊队名来给这支他们支持的队伍加油的习惯。
而TSM比起M5、CLG EU等其他当年昙花一现的“天团”不同的一点就是他们不仅在所在赛区有统治力,而且还把这种统治力延续了下来。很多人都知道TSM是截至现在唯一一个每年都会进世界总决赛的队伍,但其实他们还有一个纪录,就是他们进入了每一届NA LCS决赛。试着换位思考一下,假如在LPL有一支队伍从建立起就长盛不衰(可能最先想到的就是EDG了),并保持着LPL决赛全勤记录,这只队伍的人气也可想而知了。虽说TSM在S赛上一直没能取得理想的成绩,但能一直保持着北美一流世界二流的水平也实属不易。
TSM这支队伍也是一个“造星”好手,这么说并不是说他们的营销手段有多么高强,而是在这支队伍中的选手都能很轻易找到自信,或者说这个队名本身就是一块活招牌——2013年猩猩队长退位,17岁的丹麦天才少年比尔森扛起中单大旗。三年过去了,这个当年安静、害羞、讲英语还带着明显丹麦口音的男孩已经成长为了可以独当一面的队长。比尔森现在可以说是西方世界最受欢迎的英雄联盟选手了,他在推特上的粉丝数量已经超过了80万,在所有现役和退役选手中名列首位。大师兄在加入TSM之前也是想到了“如果TSM和Doublelift的名字连在一起,那该有多酷。”,而原本自信爆棚的他反而是加入了TSM之后变得谦逊了一些,可见这支队伍本身就带着激励人心催人奋进的力量。
TSM之所以能一直保持着这样的向心力和队伍创始人,“猩猩队长”Reginald也有很大的关系。Reginald作为创始人,同时也是初代中单,以自己凶狠激进的对线风格奠定了队伍“Solo Mid”的体质,在发掘了比尔森之后猩队退役回归了队伍leader的角色,可以说他和队员比起上下级更像朋友与兄弟。而作为职业选手出身的leader,Reginald对于游戏和选手处境的理解要比一般人更深刻——在换线改动版本应用时他曾在采访中怒喷这样突然改动会让选手不适应,而LCS垄断也会让赞助流失。TSM心理教练Weldon也提到过LCS选手报酬过低的问题,同时表示Reginald所付的报酬已经足够多了。看来一个靠谱的管理层和精神领袖也是邪教组成的必备因素。
S5结束后除了中单位其余位置全部换血,自爆一路的老将Dyrus退役换上了较稳定的Hauntzer,打野位则由欧美少见的肉食打野Svenskeren接棒,下路大师兄与“Biodaddy”的配合也越来越娴熟,过去粉丝心中那种“比尔森一死就要GG”的无力感已经逐渐消失了,出现在世界赛上的将是一支崭新的邪教。
分析完TSM的硬实力接着我们从口号传播的角度分析一下,为什么“TSM!TSM!TSM!”这个口号的受众群会这么广?
最显而易见的原因应该就是这个队名念起来实在是朗朗上口,大家可以对比同时期的M5就会发现三个字母的队名一般念起来会有气势一些。再联想一下LPL喊起来比较顺口的队名OMG、EDG、RNG等等,就会发现起名着实是门艺术。
S2世界赛期间TSM这个名号为更多人所知,这一届世界赛欧美队伍受到了刚刚兴起的韩国赛区的强烈冲击,TSM一路冲出了小组赛但在四分之一决赛时被Azubu Frost拿下止步八强,但当时满场的“TSM”已经让人印象深刻。S3世界赛前期是TSM相对沉寂的时期,夏季赛C9崛起夺冠,世界赛时TSM又不幸和当时如日中天的SKT和黑暗势力OMG分在了同一个小组,提前宣告了无法出线的命运。
TSM这个名字真正冲出欧美走向世界是在S4世界赛时期,比尔森、Amazing、Lustboy的加入让这只老队重新焕发了生命力,夏季赛TSM击败老冤家C9夺冠,在世界赛上虽然输给了强大的三星白无缘四强,但总算是没有丢北美的脸。惊人的是在随后的半决赛甚至决赛中,现场喊声最大的都是TSM。
一代邪教,就此诞生。
那么在喊这个口号人的心中这个口号代表着什么呢?
最直接的肯定就是在TSM的比赛中表达对这支队伍的支持,但渐渐这个口号已经成为了加油代号了,或者说是活跃气氛的方式,试想在一场没有TSM的比赛里,本来双方粉丝正剑拔弩张,但是忽然响起漫山遍野的“TSM!TSM!TSM!”,也不失为一件乐事。
不过也有欧美的粉丝表示因为TSM是一支骨灰级战队,所以当喊出这个名字的时候也会有自己是一名“骨灰级粉丝”的感觉,在某种程度上这个口号跟“恭喜WE”也有几分相似,都可以用来寻找一种归属感。
